Do not worry, here are some questions we always get for our program.
‘School of Record’ arrangements are common in the United States, giving accredited universities the ability to expand their offerings to students, opening up pathways for international students, and supporting flexibility in study choices through trusted third-party providers.
At universities, recognition of prior learning for credit is generally approved on a case-by-case or subject-by-subject basis; a School of Record streamlines the process for HEX students, and for universities as they consider applications for credit to be applied.
As HEX's School of Record, the University of Sydney will issue certificates of completion to students who successfully complete approved HEX programs.
The university has assessed HEX's digital and in-person cohort programs and verified they deliver equivalent content and learning outcomes as selected units – worth 6 credit points each (3-4 US credits each).
HEX will align their grading/marking of the programs to the University’s marking scale, and successful students will be able to apply for credit to universities around the world that recognise the University of Sydney’s academic credit (hundreds of institutions around the world!)
The agreement also provides for a joint management committee and a University of Sydney academic to be appointed to the HEX academic board to support consistency and integrity of the curriculum and student outcomes.
You can earn up to 6 credit points (3-4 US credit equivalent) for each HEX digital and in person program. For example, if a student completed 5 digital courses, this would be 30 credits total (15-18 US credits).
The University of Sydney will serve as a School of Record for the following courses:
HEX Pro (Tech, Money, You, Future, and Innovation)
HEX International (all locations)
HEX High School Accelerator
HEX Ed Innovation Unit is delivered both online, and in-person as intensive programs in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Melbourne, with more international locations to launch in late 2024.
HEX’s online and ‘innovation gap year’ programs are designed alongside industry leaders like Atlassian, in response to increasing demand for short skills-based learning.
A new approach to corporate philanthropy. Atlassian Foundation partner with some of the world's most impactful education changemakers and co-founded the Pledge 1% movement. The Foundation is a special part of the Atlassian experience. They empower their employees to use their talent, time and tools to be the change they seek in the world.
With support from the Atlassian Foundation, HEX provides scholarships to low socioeconomic students and underrepresented students in STEM fields. These students could now gain credit recognition through the School or Record agreement.
